Tea time building blocks
I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee, but unfortunately for me, the nausea, heart palpitations & shakes simply aren't worth it! So instead, I enjoy a plethora of yummy fruit and herbal teas! ...but why should the packets be just tossed directly in the recycling trash can? Tea boxes are perfect building blocks as they are - no fancy, time consuming decorating/ preparing required - they are colourful, a great size for little hands, and can be a great tool for sorting colours, sizes, shapes and practising counting; as well as providing great loose part inspiration for imaginative play -market stall, tea time, cooking... !
Place the blocks on a table or raised window sill, and the stacking activity suddenly becomes a lovely upper arm stability challenge; or sit down with your little one and set up a pattern/structure for them to copy - and instantly you have yourself a simple copying game working on visual motor coordination. Pop a few little surprises inside them - create shakers, or containers for posting and tipping out (repetitive, fine motor fun)... Oh the possibilities...
Are you a tea lover too?
