Not just a 'door snake'

Why is it that babies/kids often move right past the 'real toys', seemingly drawn like a magnet to ordinary, everyday items? Are they trying to tell us something? The 'door snake' has long been a favourite in our house - thrown around, pulled, pushed, and very often 'worn'! Moral of the story, even with few or no toys out - young eyes see play things and play spaces!
